New Compelling and Heart-Warming Novel Releasing Tomorrow!

Friends!  I can’t wait to tell you about a lovely, brand-new novel.  MORE exciting:  it hits ebooks tomorrow, 10/28, and then the paperback book will release on November 11th!!!

This book would make a great gift (Christmas is fast approaching!) and should you read it, oh, and please do, it will also keep you turning the page not wanting it to end.  It will draw you in immediately.

Here’s the cover:

Alice Cecil, our author, is gifted at making her characters come alive while making you laugh or worry with them, or celebrate with them, and sometimes even becoming frustrated with them!

Here’s a photo of Joe (in the background), their three daughters, four of their eleven grandchildren, and Alice. www.alicececil.com

Willa, the main character, will win your heart.  We readers get to watch her grow up from a young child to an adult in a variety of scenarios. She may be the most determined child and later, adult, I’ve ever encountered.

Willa’s family is anything but perfect.  Their quirks are killer funny and many times define dysfunctional.  Willa’s parents don’t exactly know how to raise Willa and her sister, Lauren.  Many townsfolk talk about the seemingly abundance of freedom the girls are given.

Once Lauren goes off to school, we see Willa really becoming her own type of person, and you will laugh at her decisions regarding her personality. Another beautiful character is Willa’s Grandmother.  She’s like a guardian angel to Willa.  You’ll fall in love with her instantly.  Watch her faith spark interest in Willa….Don’t miss where the raven comes in! (I always love discovering the significance of a book’s title…and ah, my friend, you must read the book to discover this!)

In spite of the minister of Willa’s family church being rather dogged and dreary, Willa’s curiosity about faith and the Lord grow. That’s about the time Willa discovers they have no Bible in their household!

Off to Grandmother’s she goes…Sure enough, her Grandmother blesses Willa with her Grandfather’s Bible complete with his notes, etc. in it.  Watch how this unfolds.

Willa winds up going to art school in Charleston, South Carolina.  Enter another guardian angel, Miss Louise, who’s boarding house is where Willa lives during school.  Seemingly forever single, watch how new friends and perhaps a new love interest surface in Willa’s life!  It’s all delightful!!!

In spite of Willa’s art teachers not being so encouraging, other people in her life lead her to some new discoveries which lead her to a fun career in art in a totally different direction than she’d imagined.  Miss Louise shows her how her prayers have been answered for Willa which is a huge gift to her.

While Lauren, Willa’s sister, appeared to have abandoned her for high school friends, followed by heading off to college, watch how they reconnect—another aspect to this novel’s stirring our heartstrings.

A couple of Bible studies ensue, with Scripture of course,  which are an added bonus to the story.  You’ll love how Romans 5:3-4 is a big part of the novel.  Willa has her own paraphrase.  I love the NLT:

Without giving any more tidbits away, I highly recommend this novel and promise you’ll be blessed to discover what else transpires in it. It’s refreshing to have such a sweet story amidst our crazy world we’re living in. Alice also has written a companion book to The Kindhearted Raven called The Little Yellow Book—Looking Back to Give Forward.

Finally, I asked Alice how The Kindhearted Raven was birthed. It was thru’ a difficult journey they traversed with their second child, who was born with cancer. They went thru’ surgery, radiation, and chemo’ with her. Alice said it was then that the Lord met her and she knew she had to give her daughter and herself over to the Lord. She tells us, “That evening while folding clothes in the family room, the Holy Spirit entered my heart. The experience was as real as stepping outside in the rain and being drenched with water…”

“In the following days, I started writing— an activity I had never before endeavored to do…I now thank God for all those difficult circumstances, which finally released me from my prison of perfectionism.” And oh, aren’t we so blessed to have Alice’s writing?

Also please see below her children’s books!

Alice is currently writing another novel, “The Misplaced Note.” Good news: She includes a “sneak peek” of it in the back of The Kindhearted Raven. It’s due to be released in 2026.

Now you know how we like to close, “Run! Don’t walk, to your nearest bookstore and grab a copy of The Kindhearted Raven for yourself and for your friends.”

‘Til next time!
